I went to school in a hurry. 나는 서둘러학교에 갔다 I went swimming with my friend to beat the heat. 나는 더위를 식히기위해 친구들과함께 수영하러갔다. The weather is so nice that I want to go for a drive. 날씨가 아주 좋아서 드라이브 가고 싶다.

I have been to Japan twice. 나는 일본에 두 번 다녀왔다. I have never been there. 나는 거기에 한번도 가본적이 없다.

There were few people in the park,because it was raining. 비가오고있어서 공원에는 사람들이 거의 없었다. There was yellow dust in the air. 황사가 있었다.

I went to the travel agency in order to get some information. 정보를 좀더 얻기위해 여행사에 갔다. I saved money so that I might buy a present for him. 그에게 줄 선물을 사기위해 돈을 모았다.

I had to be in a hurry so as not to be scolded for being late. 나는 지각으로 꾸중을 듣지 않기위해서 서둘러야 했다. I did my best lest I should break my promise with him. 나는 그와의 약속을 깨뜨리지 않기위해 최선을 다했다.

I couldn't attend the party on account of a previous appointment. 선약 때문에 그파티에 참석하지 못했다. I was able to pass the exam thanks to my teachers 선생님들 덕분에 시험에 합격할수 있었다

Since I was in such a hurry,I forget to bring my cell phone. 너무 서두르다가 휴대폰 가지고 오는 것을 잊었다. As I studied till late last night,I couldn't get up early morning. 어젯밤에 늦게까지 공부를 해서 오늘 아침에 일찍 일어날 수 가 없었다.

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't go out of the room. 나는 너무 챙피해서 방에서 나올수가 없었다. I was such a crowded bus that there was no seat to sit on. 그버스에는 너무 사람이 많아서 자리가 없었다.

This book was too difficult for me to read. This book was so difficult that I couldn't read it. 내게는 이책이 너무 어려워서 읽을수가 없었다. I was too angry to stand it any more. I was so angry that I couldn't stand it any more. 나는 너무화가나서 더 이상 참을수가 없었다 .

I spent all day long playing computer games. 나는 컴퓨터게임을 하면서 하루종일을 보냈다. Because of my impulse shopping, I wasted a lot of money on clothes. 충동 구매로 옷에 많은 돈을 낭비하고 말았다.

I tried not to speak with my mouth full. 입에 음식을 넣은채 말하지 않으려고 노력했다. I fell asleep with the radio on. 나는 라듸오를 켜놓은채로 잠이 들었다. I sat silently,with my sisther knitting beside me. 나는 조용히 앉아있었고,언니는 내옆에서 뜨개질을 했다.

I was astonished to see his appearance. 나는그의 모습을 보고 깜짝놀랐다. I was offend at his rude behavior. 나는 그의 무례한 행동에 기분이 상했다. I was very tired with his constant excuses. 나는 그의 계속되는 변명에 아주 피곤했다.

People say that he is a troublemaker. 사람들은 그가 말썽꾸러기라고들 한다. It is said that he was a very polite guy long ago. 그는 예전에 매우 예의바른 사람이였다고 들한다.

According to the report, it's good to eat less. 보도에 의하며 적게 먹는것이 건강에 좋다고한다.

There is a rumor going around that left Korea. Rumor has it that he left Korea. It is rumored that he left Korea. 그가 한국을 떠났다는 소문이 있다.

Whether he would come wasn't certain. It wasn't certain whether he would come. 그가 올것인지 확실하지 않았다. That he behaved like that was strange. It was strange that behaved like that. 그가 그렇게 행동하는것이 이상했다.

His advice made me think about my problem again. 그의 조언을 듣고 내문제에 대해 다시 생각하게 되었다. She got me to wash the dishes. 그녀가 내게 설거지 하도록 했다.

I become used to getting up early in the morning. 나는 아침에 일찍일어나는것에 익숙해졌다. I am used to staying up late. 나는 늦게까지 잠자지않고 있는것에 익숙하다.

I would stay up to read comic books. 나는 만화책을 읽느라 밤늦게까지 잠을 자지 않곤 했다. I have a habbit of chewing things. 나는 무언가를 물어뜯는 버릇이 있다.

I have a lot of work to do all day. 하루종일 할 일이 많았다. I don't have any parent to depend on. 나는 믿고 의지할 부모님이 안계시다. It was nothing to worry about. 그건 걱정할일이 아니었다.

I wish something interesting would happen. 뭔가 재미있는 일이 있으면 좋을텐데. I wish (that) I had studied harder last semester. 지난 학기에 공부를 좀더 열심히 했더라면 좋았을텐데.

If I were rich I could travel abroad. 내가 부자라면 해외여행을 했을텐데. If I had had enough money, I could have brought the bag. 돈이 충분했더라면 그가방을 살수 있었을텐데. Unless I had gone there, I wouldn't have been able to meet him. 거기에 가지않았으면,그를 만나지 못했을것이다. Without him, I couldn't work out anything. 그가없으면 나는 아무일도 해내지 못할것이다.

I should have been more careful. 나는 좀더 조심했어야 했다 I hadn't intended to annoy him. I didn't intend to have annoyed him. 그를 성가시게 할의도는 아니었다.(그러나 성가시게했다)

Today seemed to be the saddest day of my life. 오늘이 내인생에서 가장 슬픈날인것 같다. When the ferris wheel went up to the highest point, I was a little scared. 회전기구가 가장높이 올라갔을때 좀 무서웠다.

It was the worst mistake I'd ever made. 그것은 지금까지 내가 저지른것 중 최악의 실수였다. He was the funniest person I'd ever met. 그는 내가 만나본 사람중 가장웃기는 사람이었다.

There is no use repenting 후회해봤자 소용없다 It is of no use whatsoever. 아무짝에도 쓸모없다.

It was going to rain soon. 곧 비가 올것 같았다. He was supposed to come here tomorrow. 그는 내일 여기로 오게 되어있었다. I was about to go out. 막 외출할려던 참이였다. When I was about to call him, the doorbell rang. 그에게 막 전화하려고하는데 초인종이 울렸다.

I hope he will get well again soon. 그가 빨리 회복되기를 바란다. I am looking forward to seeing him. 나는 그를 만나기를 학수고대하고 있다. I didn't feel much inclined to work. 나는 별로 일을 하고싶지 않았다. I couldn't wait to see the picture that I had taken. 찍은 사진을 빨리보고싶었다. I yearned to meet my favorite singer. 나는 내가 제일좋아하는가수를 꼭만나보고 싶었다.

He said,"You are kind to everyone". →He said that I was kind to everyone. 그는 내가 누구에게나 친절하다고 했다. He asked me"Do you like to listen to music?" →He asked me if (whether) I like to listen to music. 그가 나에게음악듣는것을 좋아하느냐고 물었다. He said to me,"You had better work harder". →He advised me to work harder. 그는 내게 좀더 열심히 공부하라고 말했다.

The problem was when to finsh the work. 문제는 언제 그일을 끝내야 하는것 이다. I couldn't decide which one to buy. 어떤것을 사야할지 결정할수 없었다. It was difficult for me to decide whether to go or not. 가야할지 말아야할지 결정하기가 어려웠다.

As soon as I came home, it rained. 내가 집에오자마자 비가 왔다. As I ended the letter, I wanted to say one more thing. 그편지를 마치면서 한가지만 더이야기하고 싶었다. Not until today did I hear the news. I didn't hear the news until today. 오늘이 되어서야 비로소 그뉴스를 듣게 되었다.
